Featuring a song by the singer Ruelle, here’s a look at the just-released full-length Sanditon ITV trailer that previews the channels upcoming period drama.
Filmed in and around the city of Bristol, England, Sanditon is based on Jane Austen’s final and incomplete novel and will be the first time it’s been brought to a wide television audience. The Sanditon ITV cast list is headed by actress Rose Williams (Curfew, Reign, Changeland) as lead character Charlotte Heywood, Theo James (Castlevania, The Divergent Series, Downton Abbey) as Sidney Parker, Anne Reid (Last Tango in Halifax, Years and Years, Hold the Sunset) as Lady Denham and Kris Marshall (Death in Paradise, Lightfields, Love Actually) as Tom Parker.
When does Sanditon start?
In the UK Sanditon begins broadcasting on Sunday 25 August on ITV, while in America the show will premiere on MASTERPIECE in 2020. The Sanditon theme tune, that plays during the opening credits and closing dance scene of episode1, appears to be a piece of Irish fiddle music, although we don’t currently know who recorded it.

Featuring the lyrics “This is where we come alive. Out of the shadows, and into the light”, this Sanditon ITV trailer song was recorded by the American electronic pop singer-songwriter Margaret Eckford, who’s better known by the stage name Ruelle. Another of the singer’s tracks ‘Game of Survival’ was used as the theme music to BBC’s nature series ‘Dynasties’ last year as well as for its trailer soundtrack.
