Here we have the video, full song, and singer details to the brilliant new ‘Forever Young’ Christmas advert for Hafod Hardware.
Following the ads clever slogan and theme of ‘Be a kid this Christmas’, this heartwarming social media advertisement video for Hafod Hardware shows a young boy, 2-year-old Arthur Lewis Jones, doing a day’s work at the Welsh store.
After serving customers, sweeping up, performing some office tasks and giving lots of big thumbs up, Arthur closes up for the day and carries a Christmas tree home. It’s at this point that the young lad transforms into his father Tom and we’re shown the message ‘Be a kid this Christmas’.
This film is the perfect example of how, with a clever theme and a great well-sung song, you don’t need millions of pounds to create a successful and popular festive ad, something most of the big companies and brands could learn from based on this year’s offerings.

This 2019 Christmas Hafod Hardware advert song is a cover of ‘Forever Young’ performed by the female vocalist Andrea von Kampen who’s an independent folk singer-songwriter from Lincoln, Nebraska in America. Featuring the lyrics “Forever young, I want to be forever young. Do you really want to live forever?”, the original version of this tune was released back in 1984 by the German synthpop band Alphaville, as the title track of their debut album. The single surprisingly failed to achieve significant success on the UK chart but performed much better in Scandinavian countries and in Germany.
