Heathrow Christmas Ad Song – Bears Return

Every year when the festive ads start coming out, we all think about what retailers like John Lewis, M&S etc will have to offer. But despite having created arguably the best ad each of the last couple of years, we still tend to forget about Heathrow.

Well thankfully the airport have brought back their cute bears for this heartwarming 2018 Christmas advert, which is easily the best of this years campaigns so far. The video show a senior bear couple living in Florida, looking rather board and sad. Then when the pair share a video call with their family here in Britain and see the contrast of a happy, busy home, the couple decide to catch a flight to London so they can spend Christmas with their loved ones. The commercial ends with the tagline ‘Making It Home Makes It Christmas’.

Adding to the emotion of this film is the Heathrow Christmas advert song, which is English singer Paul Young’s version of Every Time You Go Away that he released in 1985. This track was originally written and recorded five years earlier by US pop-rock duo Hall & Oates, but it wasn’t until Young’s cover that it became a major hit single. The song reached number 4 on the UK charts and impressively topped the US Billboard Hot 100.

Now that’s what I call a proper Christmas advert. This one will surely take some beating. Heathrow Airport Bears Return #HeathrowBears YouTube video upload date: 7 November, 2018.
