Featuring the tagline “We know what a home is really worth”, online property website Zoopla have created two new TV adverts for this year, each using a different song.
With the voiceover provided by English actress and comedian Diane Morgan (aka Philomena Cunk), the first ad tells us about Tia and Jake, for whom finding their Savoy Road flat on Zoopla was apparently the single greatest moment of their lives due to no longer having to live in the same home as Jake’s parents.
To give viewers a less than subtle visual demonstration of why Tia and Jake are so pleased to finally have a place of their own, we’re shown a picture falling off a wall due to activities in the opposite room. We, of course, have no idea what this is suggesting.

This particular Zoopla advert song is the rock power ballad ‘Alone’ that was recorded by the American band Heart. Taken from the group’s ninth studio album ‘Bad Animals’, the single was released in 1987, topping the US Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number 3 on the UK charts.
The band Heart are a group from Seattle formed back in 1970 by bassist Steve Fossen, guitarist Roger Fisher, keyboard player David Belzer, and drummer Jeff Johnson. After 1973 the band’s vocals were provided by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, who also played guitar and other instruments.
Alone is arguably Heart’s most famous single, but they have also achieved significant hits with such songs as ‘Barracuda’, ‘These Dreams’ and ‘All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You’.
As we mentioned briefly at the beginning, this Zoopla advert voiceover was recorded by Diane Morgan. She’s a British comedian, writer, and actress probably best known for appearing as her persona Philomena Cunk on Charlie Brooker’s ‘Wipe’ shows. More recently she’s been appearing as Philomena in her own shows and various characters in sitcoms like Motherland and Rovers, and the Ricky Gervais’ Netflix show After Life.
