Walkers Crisps Advert – Wotsits, Quavers & Monster Munch

Featuring one of Elvis Presley’s great, but lesser-known songs, this new Walkers Crisps TV advert catches men and women using very creative and quite extreme methods of hiding packets of Wotsits, Monster Munch and Quavers from their children.

The commercial shows people stashing away crips in clothes draws, under a desk, inside an old VHS video case, under toilet roll covers, inside a lampshade and golf bag, under floorboards, and even inside a lipstick holder. The ad concludes with a couple getting caught doing some secret eating in the garage. Titled ‘Snack Stash’ the video features the taglines ‘Too Good To Share (Sorry, Kids)’ and ‘Must Be Walkers’.

Featuring the lyrics “I need you desperately”, the song playing in this Walkers Crisps advert is called ‘So Close, Yet So Far (From Paradise)’. You probably won’t be too surprised to learn that this song was recorded by the legendary American singer and actor Elvis Presley, with The King of Rock & Roll having performed the tune as part of the soundtrack album to the 1965 musical comedy film Harum Scarum, in which he starred. If you don’t remember the movie by that exact name, that’s likely because the film was given the title Harem Holiday for its British release.
