The track ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You’ that was famously featured in a 90’s ad campaign for Coca Cola appears again in this new Vauxhall Astra Light advert.
It’s not just the soundtrack though that this Astra ad shares with the Coke commercial, as this video also shows ladies, this time joined by a guy, watching something very intently during their break. But this is where the Vauxhall and Coca Cola adverts differ as this time it’s the Astra Light drawing all the attention.
The office staff watch on as a red Astra is manoeuvred around the carpark and cheekily splashes up some water. Linking in with the Coke theme and the car’s fuel economy performance, the ad finishes with the slogan ‘Drinks Less Fuel’.

As was the case with the classic Coke ad, this latest Vauxhall Astra advert song is titled ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You’, with this version having been recorded by the American blues and soul singer Etta James.
Opening with the lyrics “I don’t want you to be no flame. I don’t want you to work all day”, this piece of music was written by Willie Dixon and was originally recorded by singer-songwriter and musician, Muddy Waters.
