Renault introduces the All-New CLIO that’s been 30 years in the making in this current TV advert, which features a cover of the Oasis song ‘Wonderwall’ performed by female singer Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne.
The storyline of this Renault commercial follows a young schoolgirl named Gemma who visits France during the 1990’s as part of a student exchange programme. While abroad she stays with a French family who have a daughter of a similar age.
The two girls go on to build a close friendship which, when they get older, develops into a romantic relationship. But when the French lady gets married, Gemma is left alone until the pair are eventually reunited and begin raising a family of their own.
Advert Music: Wonderwall (Oasis cover).
Singer: Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne.

This all-new Renault CLIO advert song is a cover of ‘Wonderwall’ that was originally recorded and released by Oasis during the height of the Britpop movement in 1995. The track was taken from the Machester bands now classic album ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ and peaked at number 2 on the UK singles chart.
Wonderwall has since been covered by a number of different singers and groups, but the name of the female vocalist who recorded this ’30 Years in the making’ Renault CLIO commercial cover version is Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne.
This version was recorded by singer Rahel and was produced by Luis Almau for Soundtree Music. When she’s not working on any solo projects, singer Rahel also performs and records as a vocalist with a band from London called Hejira.
As good as it is to see so many retailers and brands releasing their Christmas adverts this time of the year, great non-festive commercials like this one from Renault make for a welcoming refreshment, especially when they include such a great soundtrack. However, we also hope and expect to see this Clio advert still being broadcast in early 2020.
