Here’s one of Progressive Insurance’s new TV commercials which, despite only running for 30 seconds, features its own half time show.
The ad spot opens with Progressive’s fictional salesperson Flo, who’s played by New York actress and comedian Stephanie Courtney, sat in a house with a couple telling them how new customers save on average over a thousand dollars when they bundle home and auto insurance together with Progressive.
But only 5 seconds into the video, the room slides apart for a half time music performance. Then following that very brief rock show, it’s back to Flo and her friends where we quickly learn that even renters can save, while Flo continues to enjoy a half time snack that she’s apparently helped herself to from the kitchen.

This new Progressive Insurance commercial song that we hear a small section of is called ‘All Star’ and is being performed by the Californian alternative rock band Smash Mouth.
The single was the second track taken from the group’s 1999 album ‘Astro Lounge’ and is one of their most successful releases, reaching number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 countdown.
