As the new 2019 to 2020 football season kicks off, Paddy Power are back with another of their hilarious TV adverts, but one that this time promotes a genuine campaign. The company are trying to come to the rescue of footie fans whose team kits have been covered with embarrassing brands or logos, including those of rival foreign bookmakers.
The funny ad video shows football supports wearing replica shirts featuring such names as Grump Pigeon, Little Blue Pill, BetBetBet, Mr Softy, Visit North Korea, and an apparently embarrassing Far East brand that only native speakers really understand. This #SaveOurShirt Paddy Power advert concludes with the voiceover asking “Wouldn’t it be great if your footie shirt looked less like a billboard?” and tells viewers how as part of their campaign “Every team we sponsor, we’re un-sponsoring and they won’t have our logo on them at all”.
Advert Music: I Love My Shirt. Singer: Donovan.

Once you’re aware of this tracks existence, it was really the only possible choice for this ‘Save Our Shirt’ Paddy Power TV advert song. The tune in question is titled ‘I Love My Shirt’ and was recorded by Scottish singer-songwriter and musician Donovan. The song is taken from the artist’s seventh studio album ‘Barabajagal’ that was released in 1969 in America but wasn’t originally released here in the UK due to a contractual dispute.
