This funny new Microsoft Holiday commercial sees a Surface and Microsoft Translator tested out on reindeer by a young girl named Lucy.
When the 6-year-old sees her mother using the Microsoft Surface and its Translator software to talk to someone speaking Japanese, but hearing them in English, this gives her an idea.
So Lucy then heads outside at Christmas time with her dog when they spot some reindeer and asks them with the Surface “Can you understand me?”. Amazingly their reply gets translated as “Yes I can understand you”, leading to Lucy asking lots of questions such as “What does Santa do in the summer?” and “How do you guys fly?”.
The ad spot finishes with the message “Happy Holidays in 60+ Languages. Reindeer isn’t one of them. Yet”.
This 60-second Microsoft commercial is titled ‘Holiday Magic: Lucy & the Reindeer’ and demonstrates how Microsoft technology empowers and connects everyone on the planet…well, almost everyone.
