A boy in a dress is the star of this new John Lewis Home Insurance advert that encourages viewers to simply ‘Let Life Happen’.

Showing scenes any parents of young children will be hoping doesn’t give their own kids ideas of how to treat their home, this John Lewis & Partners ad shows a youngster wrecking the house in style.


While wearing makeup and a dress over his own clothes, the boy damages furniture and fixtures as he dances and struts his stuff, covering the place in paint and glitter along the way.

The message of this ‘Let Life Happen’ advert is that “Life’s easier when you don’t have any worries” which suggests there’s nothing to worry about if this should happen to you and you have John Lewis Home Insurance, although that would make for one heck of a claim form.

Judging by the current ratio of likes to dislike on the YouTube video, this ad isn’t going down as well with viewers as the retailer’s Christmas campaigns.
