This advert promotes the new Fiat 500 and Panda Hybrid cars that we’re told feature recycled plastic seats collected from the sea and a hybrid engine that reduces emissions by up to 30%.
We assume that these seats weren’t already seats when they were taken from the sea, just plucked from the oceans and stuck into these Fiat cars. Presumably, some melting down and reforming of plastic bottles, etc was involved.
Being serious though, this is the first time in the automotive sector that models have been built using special seats partly made using SEAQUAL® YARN, which is obtained from recycled plastic.

This 500 and Panda Hybrid Fiat advert song is a cover of a tune called ‘And I Love You So’ that was originally written and recorded in 1970 by the American folk singer and guitarist Don McLean, featuring on the artist’s debut studio album ‘Tapestry’.
And I Love You So has been covered by such singers as Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Engelbert Humperdinck, Matt Monro, Glen Campbell, and many others. Meanwhile, the version playing in this Fiat Panda and 500 Hybrid commercial is credited to Red Rose Productions.
