Filmed in the picturesque village of Montepulciano, this new YouTube and TV commercial for Dolce & Gabbana K stars the Italian fashion designer, blogger, actor and male model Mariano Di Vaio.
This extended version of the ad video shows Mariano riding a motorcycle and walking around the village and countryside, mostly with his shirt undone or completely off. If that wasn’t enough, later in the film we see the 30-year-old completly lose that white shirt to show off his pecs and abs in full, without ever breaking into a smile.
According to D&G, this advert for their new masculine fragrance shows model Mariano Di Vaio as a “King of everyday life” and the brand encourages you to “Own Your Crown”.
Music in the Advert
This Dolce & Gabbana K commercial song we hear playing is a remixed version of a piece of music called ‘L’Estasi Dell’Oro’, which is also known by its English name ‘The Ecstasy of Gold’. This classic tune was composed by Italian orchestrator, conductor and composer Ennio Morricone as part of the soundtrack to the 1966 Spaghetti Western film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The Bandini Remix version of the track used in this D&G K fragrance advert was released for download in 2014.
If you’re really into your TV advert music, you may even remember that this tune was used by KFC in this 2018 festive ‘Chicken v Turkey’ ad. From a poultry winter standoff to an Italian fragrance fantasy. Now that’s a versatile piece of music.
