‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas’ is the message of this new festive season Dogs Trust advert that stars a cute little dog made of cork. For more information on Dogs Trust visit dogstrust.org.uk.
The advert begins with Corky having fun on a dining table as a family eats their Christmas dinner, playing and barking at those around him, or her. Unfortunately, the mood changes the following day when Corky’s cleared away from the table as if they were no more important than any of the party poppers or napkins.
The film concludes with the real-life, even cuter canine version of Corky looking out of a box on the pavement, before being rescued and taken to a Dogs Trust centre.

This latest Dogs Trust Christmas advert music is a cover of the song ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ that was recorded a few years ago by the British singer Sam Smith, who’s famous for such hits as ‘Stay with Me’, ‘Money on My Mind’ and ‘I’m Not the Only One’.
One of Sam’s most recent singles ‘I Feel Love’ also provides the soundtrack to this American Christmas TV commercial for Target.
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was first recorded by the US singer and actress Judy Garland for the 1944 film musical Meet Me in St. Louis.
