Boots UK has just launched its new “Let’s Feel Good About Summer” TV ad campaign, with this year’s advert focusing on celebrating body confidence, especially while out in the sun.
The video shows two women heading off on their holidays when, while waiting at the airport, they’re confronted by a big screen advertisement video of a slim model in a bikini that aks the question “Are You Summer Ready?”.
At this point, the ad soundtrack vocals begin with “Leave it out. Nobody looks like that, it’s just a load of chat”. Then once the girls are aboard the plane and later out on the beach in their own bikini’s, the lyrics continue “I’ve got no doubt, we’re gonna look supreme like (fearless?) beauty queens. The time has come for us to show the way we feel. It’s time to shout, I am going out! I’m going out. I want the world to know, I’ve got it all on show. Thighs coming out. Throw off the big sarong, this feeling can’t be wrong.”
Advert Music: I’m Coming Out. Original Singer: Diana Ross.

This “Let’s Feel Good About Summer” Boots advert song is a reworded cover of the Diana Ross hit “I’m Coming Out”. Produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers, this disco, funk track was released in 1980 and is taken from the singer’s self-titled tenth solo album “Diana”. Particularly in more recent years, this song has gone on to become a popular anthem for the LGBT community.
