While billions of people around the world are currently living their lives under varying degrees of restrictions and lockdown to limit the spread of the coronavirus, Booking.com has released this new commercial to remind viewers that the world’s tourist attractions are not going anywhere.
Even though it’s obviously disappointing to have something canceled that you’d worked hard for and been looking forward to, but if the worse thing that happens to someone this year is they miss out on a vacation, they should consider themself extremely lucky.
The advert shows iconic tourist locations like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Taj Mahal in India, and Madison Avenue in New York, along with the years they were constructed to demonstrate just how long they’ve been around. So compared to the hundreds of years these sites have been visited, a few months or so of them being off-limits appears rather insignificant.
The video finishes with the messages “The world is waiting for us” and “There will be a Booking for everyone”.
This Booking.com commercial song is a piece of classical music titled ‘Suite bergamasque, L. 75 : III. Clair de lune’ that’s performed here by the Hungarian pianist Klara Körmendi.
