Apple’s new commercial promoting the iPhone’s privacy features takes us inside Ellie’s Data Auction where a young woman’s personal digital information is put up for sale.
In the ‘Privacy on iPhone Data Auction’ ad spot, the actress playing Ellie watches as wealthy individuals bid to purchase her emails, drugstore purchase info, location data, contacts, transactions, and browsing history.
But just as this Dubious auction’s star lot is about to go under the hammer, the actress takes out her iPhone to select ‘CarryOut’ and stop an app from tracking her before she then also chooses to protect her mail activity.
The young lady’s actions then trigger the auction’s demise as lots and bidders disappear into thin air and we see the message ‘It’s your data. iPhone helps keep it that way – Privacy. That’s iPhone’.
