American Express tells us they’re “Right Behind You” in this TV commercial, which opens with a young girl stepping out in front of a crowd to play the violin.
After showing clips of people working, shopping, socializing, and enjoying family life, at the end of the advert we see the violinist performing to a bigger crowd, now as an adult.
Advert Music: The Joke.
Artist: Brandi Carlile.

This American Express advert song that plays between the two violin instrumentals is titled ‘The Joke’ and was recorded by the alternative pop-rock American singer Brandi Carlile. The brief pieces of violin music at the beginning and end of the Amex ad are not part of this song.
The full-length version of The Joke includes lyrics, which were written for people who feel under-represented or unloved. The track can be download as a single or as part of the 2017 album ‘By The Way, I Forgive You’.
