Here’s a look at the brand-new ‘Smile’ Prime Video holiday commercial from Amazon that stars an unpredictable hyena and is titled ‘An Unlikely Friendship’.
During this full-length 2-minute version of the advert, we see a man streaming Prime Video on his smartphone while working at a zoo, something which grabs the attention of a nearby hyena.
Over time the pair build such a friendship over their shared love of Prime’s shows and movies that the guy breaks the hyena out of the zoo and adopts them as a pet, with rather funny and chaotic consequences.
Who’s the Amazon Prime Video advert actor?
The name of the actor starring alongside the CGI hyena in this Christmas Prime Video advert is David K. Whiting, who most recently played the character Thomas Walker in the 2021 documentary series The Lost Pirate Kingdom.
If this hyena Amazon Prime Video Christmas ad was actually a trailer for a new sitcom series, I’d watch it for sure. Although it may need to become a talking hyena for extra depth.
Prime Video Ad Music: Smile.
Artist: Joy Crookes.
This Prime Video holidays commercial song is a track titled ‘Smile’ that’s performed by the British-Irish-Bangladeshi singer-songwriter Joy Crookes and is a cover of the Nat King Cole classic that appears to have been recorded especially for this Christmas Amazon advert.
