The Red Dwarf cast have reunited for this new TV advert for The AA, which sees the crew broken down in their spaceship 3 million years into their deep-space journey.
While Cat panics, Rimmer initiates the extremely slow standard emergency breakdown procedure, and Kryten offers to get struck by lightning to act as a distress flare, AA member and smartphone owner Lister comes up with the more practical solution of using The AA to request a mechanic. So does this mean the end of the popular AA singing baby advert?
Song: Red Dwarf Theme Tune. Singer: Jenna Russell.

This AA advert music we hear in the latter part of the ad is, as fans of the science fiction comedy series will be well aware, an instrumental section of the Red Dwarf theme music. The song, which is available to download, was recorded by British broadcaster and composer Howard Goodall and singer Jenna Russell. The full-length version of the theme song that plays during the programmes closing credits includes such lyrics as “I want to lie shipwrecked and comatose, drinking fresh mango juice. Fun fun fun, in the sun sun sun”.
