AA Advert – Tukker The Dog – Song by Sofi Tukker

Tukker the Dog is the star of this excellent new ‘Love that feeling?’ 2020-2021 TV advert for The AA as we watch him put on some music, sit in front of a fan, and visit his happy place.

As we see in this full-length 50-second version of the ‘We’ll get you back on the road’ AA ad, this very cute ‘crossbreed’ dog appears fed up while relaxing in his retro living room, but then has an idea of how to boost his mood.

Tukker gets a tune playing on the record player, more details on that song below, then sits right in front of a fan on full power.

With the wind now blowing through that wooly hair, the dog escapes into a slow-motion daydream where he’s traveling down the road at speed, looking very cool in his shades as he does it.

Having originally been released in July 2020, Tukker is once again making television viewers smile in 2021 as many of us also dream of getting back on the road. Many people are also still requesting that The AA start selling toy versions of their cute dog mascot.

If you don’t want to spoil the magic of this great AA advert, we suggest you don’t watch this behind the scenes video from the companies official YouTube channel:

The 2021 AA advert song that our four-legged friend listens to is a piece of music titled ‘Drinkee’ that was released in 2016 by American house music and EDM duo Sofi Tukker.

Although the soundtrack to this AA commercial mostly uses an instrumental section of Drinkee, the full single actually includes vocals that are sung in Portuguese. This is due to the fact that the tune was inspired by a poem called ‘Relógio’ by Brazilian poet Chacal.

Drinkee is taken from the group’s ‘Soft Animals’ album and previously featured in a TV commercial for Smirnoff Seltzer 0 Sugar. Another of their songs ‘Energia’ plays in this ad for Michelob Ultra Pure Gold, while their single ‘Mi Rumba’ appears in this advert for PrettyLittleThing.

The AA’s ‘Love that feeling?’ ad campaign with Tukker the Dog follows on from the car breakdown and insurance company’s hit ‘Singing Baby’ TV advert that aired from 2017 to 2019.

That was one of the most popular TV ads in years and will be a tough act to follow, so we’ll see if Tukker is up to the task. One thing we expect to see is a demand for a toy version of Tukker the Dog to be made available to buy, or perhaps to be given away free with AA membership or insurance.
