Who sings the song used in this latest TV advert for Yopa estate agents?
This new ‘Now That’s A Smooth Move’ Yopa advert music is a new wave/synth-pop track called Whip It, which was recorded in 1980 by the US band Devo. You can now download the full length single from Amazon on its own or as part of the groups third album Freedom of Choice.
After reaching number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 countdown, Whip It became Devo’s most successful release by far. Despite the band having been formed in the early 70’s and still being active today, the songs popularity has resulted in many people classing them as one-hit wonders. As for the unusual lyrics, we’re not even going to begin to speculate on their meaning. This same piece of music previously featured in a 2017 TV ad campaign for hotel chain Premier Inn.
Yopa’s Now That’s A Smooth Move advert shows a guy using his whip to perform loads of everyday household tasks in style and with ease, but it seems even this isn’t as smooth as Yopa’s moves.
