The music playing in this New Year Tesco ad campaign is a disco and R&B track called September that was released in 1978. Opening with the lyrics “Do you remember the 21st night of September?”, the song was recorded by the American soul and fuck band Earth, Wind & Fire and reached number 3 here on the UK singles chart. The above Tesco advert was launched in January and promotes the supermarket chains range of price rollbacks, designed to celebrate one hundred years of great value.
