Ditching their standard ‘Whoa’ adverts for now at least, this new Spring Summer Argos TV ad uses a refreshingly unique method of showcasing the retailer’s latest Home & Garden Furniture collection.
Rather than simply showing viewers a selection of still photos of the items next to their prices, this bigger budget commercial instead features a line-up of models wearing the pieces of furniture like a surreal fashion show, although we’ve probably seen crazier stuff on the real catwalks. The Argos ad creatively showcases a small selection of the retailers lampshades, seats, cushions and garden furniture. The video concludes with the taglines ‘So Stylish You Can Wear It’ and ‘You’re Good To Go’.

The Spring Summer ’19 Home & Furniture Argos advert music we hear playing here is a song called Fashion Is My Kryptonite, which is taken from the soundtrack to a Disney Channel show called Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance. Featuring the lyrics “We got style in our veins, cause fashion’s what we breathe”, this tune was recorded by the female actresses and singers Bella Thorne and Zendaya, and was released for download in 2012. Shake It Up originally aired on the Disney Channel between 2011 and 2013 and ran for an impressive total of 75 shows.
