If you’re looking for the new ‘Drummer’ ad for Bleu de Chanel, you can find that commercial here.
‘It’s Right in Front of You’ BLEU DE CHANEL Parfum – French fragrance, fashion, makeup, and jewellery brand Chanel returns with a fresh film to promote their men’s fragrance.
So how do you give an advertising campaign instant credibility? Why set it to a David Bowie song of course. As was also the case in the last advert for Bleu De Chanel, which featured the Jimi Hendrix classic All Along the Watchtower, this ad again elects to use an original version, rather than seeking out an obscure, little-known vocalist to record a somewhat unnecessary cover. Let’s face it, there are some artists that a cover will simply never do justice to.
Music: Starman. Singer: David Bowie.

The song in question here is Starman, which can now be downloaded in either its original or remastered form, with the track having been recorded in early 1972 as a late addition to Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album.
So what can you say about this advert video? It’s basically the usual man and woman gazing at each other from opposing highrise windows, before meeting up to share a nighttime swim in a rooftop pool. You know how it goes. As a shooting star flashes by overhead, this commercial finishes with the words “It’s right in front of you”, before showing us a bottle of the BLEU DE CHANEL Parfum.
